What is HIRAC?
The HRM Improvement Recommendations Advisory Committee (HIRAC) provides thought leadership on the adoption and execution of the
HRM Task Force recommendations. Co-chaired by OntarioMD and Ontario Health, it includes members from key associations and organizations to advance crucial HRM improvements and changes for Ontario clinicians.
What is its mandate?
HIRAC reviews the HRM Task Force recommendations to assess the clinician-facing issues and provides suggestions to the HRM User Group. It is exploring strategies for quicker implementation of the recommendations, seeking leadership and accountability from the appropriate stakeholders for the tasks related to each recommendation.
Advocating for Improvements
HIRAC supports discussions between hospitals and the primary care community and community-based specialists to better understand how changes at hospitals impact community-based physicians before hospitals implement them, to consider the timing of changes, and to ensure that physicians receive appropriate notice and details of the changes through timely communications.
