Our Mission
The OMD Peer Leader Program connects clinicians with knowledgeable colleagues for digital health support, learning, and guidance at no cost.
Program Overview
OMD's
Peer Leader Program supports community based clinicians in their digital health journey with guidance and advice from expert users of OMD-certified EMRs and other digital health and virtual care tools.
OMD Peer Leaders include physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and clinic managers who share their knowledge on
digital health tools through mentorship, education, workshops, and other outlets. Their guidance has helped:

Physician practices with optimizing digital tools to streamline EMR use and workflow, enhance patient care, and improve clinician decision support

Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) with fulfilling digital health plans to maximize physician and community engagement

OMD, vendors and health system stakeholders with developing provincial digital infrastructure and informing health-care innovations that meet clinician needs
Over 55 Peer Leaders, including physicians, specialists, clinic managers and nurses,
helping thousands of Ontario physicians and their staff with their EMRs
How Peer Leaders Can Help Your Practice?
- Assess, engage, support, and mentor you and your staff in using
digital health tools (your EMR, OLIS, HRM, eConsult, DHDR, eForms, and virtual care solutions)
- Share advanced tips and tricks for:
- BillingADD IMAGE
- Online booking, scheduling appointments, automated reminders
- Use of secure messaging, templates, stamps, EMR toolbars, customized forms and searches
- Chart navigation and tracking referrals
- Patient engagement
- Quality improvement and measurement
- Data quality and population health management
- Identify practice needs and connect you to helpful OMD resources
What Else Do Peer Leaders Do?
- Act as OMD ambassadors to provide thought leadership at provincial advisory groups and committees that make decisions about digital health policy and solutions for Ontario clinicians
- Contribute to EMR Communities of Practice and the evolution of provincial digital health tools (HRM®, EMR-integrated eConsult, DHDR, etc.)
- Provide input on the development of OMD educational sessions
- Present at OMD conferences by highlighting effective digital work
- Facilitate EMR workshops
- Represent OMD at stakeholder events
